Succulent flesh adorned with rubies and forged steel hang in a splendid rotation from my slender neck and rests like a warm coal from the fires of the deepest dungeons of my true love living below this frail crust of stone and soil. Magnetic forces become visible and are reflected from the eyes of the scorpion who has become silver steel frozen around my finger and pierced through my skin. Branded irons and a nest of razor needles have been used for centuries to tattoo my porcelain epidermal shroud that barely contains the writhing spinnaker inside my rib carriage.

As a white eye turns in the fog from a coastal lighthouse so do the jewels and embellishments that I rely on to convince the livestock that I am their Master and they shall always bend before me. Buckles of silver and gold, diamonds and emerald earrings, chains of silk and ivory, cross my being and crown my glorious sadness so that I may fly protected with the bats and birds even when the rain seeps through the sponge that is this trembling life.

Fingers bare the symbols in henna and ink, veils cover the rings that tie my tongue to the truth and allow my ears to accept the ions of the heavens and feed my hungry desire for power from above and below. As I sparkle in the midnight I will light a path for all to see so that they remain wary to the pull of the evil that lurks throughout us.
